Charminar

• The Charminar, built in 1591 A.D is a monument and mosque located in Hyderabad, Telengana India.
• The landmark has become a global icon of Hyderabad, listed among the most recognized structures of India.
• The Charminar was built by Muhammad Quli Qutab Shah in the center of city on the bank of Musi River.
• The Name is a translation and combination of the Urdu words Char (meaning 4) and Minar (meaning tower). The towers are attached and supported by four grand arches in each side.
• Mostly granite, marble and lime stone were used to build Charminar.

Rumi Darwaza

• The Rumi Darwaza is located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.
• It was built under the patronage of Nawab Asaf- Ud-dowlah in year 1784.
• This is an example of Awadhi architecture.
• It is sixty feet tall and inspired by Sublime Porte (Gate) of Istanbul and sometimes also known as Turkish Gate.

Sidi Sayeed Masjid

• The sid Sayeed Masjid is one of the most famous mosques of Ahmadabad in state of Gujarat, India.
• It was built by Sidi Sayeed, an army general of Gujarat Sultanat in 1573 A.D.
• The mosque is famous for beautifully carved ten stone lattice work windows also called Jali in Indian language on the side and rear arches.
• This intricately carved lattice stone window is the unofficial symbol of city of Ahmedabad.
• The logo of Indian institute of Management a premier institute of India is inspired by design of Jalis

Taj Mahal

• Taj Mahal is one of the most popular historic monuments of the world located at the bank of river Yamuna at Agra, Uttar Pardesh; a state in India.
• This is a UNESCO world heritage site, designated in 1983.
• It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.
• It took close to 17 years and 22000 people to build.
• Taj Mahal is a symmetrical structure and mostly made of White marble.
• This is 240 feet tall structure and situated in 17 hectares complex.
